Training under Income Restoration Plan
Income restoration plan (IRP) proposed for the project aims at developing income of the project affected households (PAHs) to pre-project levels or better, and is an important part of rehabilitating PAHs. PAHs will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of options designed to leverage their current activities and skills. Extensive engagement is being undertaken to make sure that all PAPs are well informed about the available options and are given adequate opportunity to participate.
A number of training institutes are engaged for providing training in the fields of computer hardware training, Beauty parlor management, Mobile phone repairing etc. A list of training institutes & training programs in various districts along the corridor, application form for participating in these trainings and contact details of the responsible NHSRCL officials are available in the links below

A resettlement action plan (RAP) with indigenous people plan (IPP) has been developed for the project to assess the impacts of the project and develop mitigation measures to assist the project affected persons (PAPs) in getting compensation, R&R assistance along with other measures to improve their socio-economic standards and livelihood capacity. NHSRCL IRP Training: Creating Better Opportunities
A number of training programs are being organized at various training institutes along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor through NHSRCL’s Income Restoration Plan (IRP) for project affected households (PAHs). Here are some of the stories that keep us all motivated towards improving livelihoods of those who are getting affected by the project.
Assistant Electrician Training
The first residential training programme for ‘Assistant Electrician’ began in Dahanu, Palghar district, in December 2019, where 14 trainees were enrolled. The training programme was conducted over three months where the participants were trained in handling and repairing electrical equipment and electrical wiring. All 14 participants have been offered an educational internship opportunity with a private sector company based in Vapi, Gujarat for a period of three months, during which they will be paid a monthly stipend. At the end of the internship, according to their performance, the company will appoint them as their permanent employee. The company has offered the interns to join office within a week. Company offering internship opportunity operates in the field of production of electric control panels and is an ISO- certified company.
Two Wheeler Mechanic Training
A two-wheeler mechanic training program was organized in RUDSET Training institute, Nadiad in Dec 2019 – Jan 2020 for PAHs from six villages for ten participants. Out of ten participants, 5 trainees started their own garage and 4 participants started working in a Garage.
Priteshkumar V. Parmar from Chikhodara village was one of the participants of this training program. After successful completion of training, he has managed to find a job at a local garage in his home town. NHSRCL is happy that we were able to support him in his endeavors.
Two Wheeler Mechanic Training
Sanjay Laxmanbhai Parmar is one of the PAPs from village Ramnagar in Anand district in Gujarat. After completing his two-wheeler mechanic training, Sanjay has opened a two-wheeler garage in his hometown. All the best to him from all of us at NHSRCL.

Govind N. Rathod is a thirty-one-year-old PAP from Briyavi village in Anand district (Gujarat). He started his own garage in his village and earning his livelihood.

All of them are happy to join work as motor mechanic in Honda showroom, Nadiad after completing their motor mechanic training provided through NHSRCL’s IRP training program. Hemangini Pathak, Namrata J. Gosai and Ghanchi Jigar Karinbhai were all trained under NHSRCL IRP. All of them are now working as data entry operator at DRM office in Vadodara. All of them are hopeful to achieve greater heights in their career through the new found self-confidence through IRP training and the job. NHSRCL wish them luck
Vijay B. Chauhan from Sihor village in Vadodara district was working as a tack welder at one of the local industries. Through welding fabrication training provided by NSHRCL as part of IRP training program, Vijay qualified as a trained aluminum welder and now earning a better salary in same company
Chauhan Parth G. from Sihor Village in Vadodara district was eagerly waiting for a job opportunity when NHSRCL’s IRP training came its way. After a training, he is now working for Elyseam company pvt. Ltd. in Padra, Vadodara. He is happy that he is able to find a suitable job because of IRP training provided by NHSRCL

Corporate Social Responsibility
NHSRCL in its endeavour to fight against Corona is taking multiple steps at various levels in order to ensure that we come out stronger from this calamity. Various steps are being undertaken like distributing food items to the needy and underprivileged class, distributing masks and sanitation items to its construction workers working at its construction sites and also promoting awareness messages about social distancing etc.
In continuation of the same, following activities were undertaken
- Distribution of food items in Dungra village of Vapi district in Gujarat on 28th Mar 2020.
- Distribution of food items amongst poor tribal families and families of daily wage earners in Alunj and Umawada villages of Bharuch districts as per the direction of district authority on 29th Mar 2020. Each packet contained ration and spices to support a family of 04 person for a week. Also, people were made aware regarding the safety precautions to be taken.
- Distribution of face masks and sanitisers/soaps to construction workers at Sabarmati Passenger hub construction site in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad
- Hand Sanitisers, Gloves, Face mask etc. were handed over to district administration in Vadodara on 01-Apr-2020
- Raw food items were distributed in two villages (Vakhtana & Mohini) in Surat District. Total 100 nos. of bags containing following items were delivered on 01 Apr 2020. Items in each bag: Rice : 5kg, Atta: 5 kg, Pulses: 1kg, Sugar: 1kg, Salt : 1 kg
An initiative by NHSRCL, for providing medical facility to Dahanu-Talasari Talukas of Palghar District
In an initiative to uplift the health facilities in the tribal areas of Dahanu and Talasari in Palghar district, National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd. (NHSRCL), the implementing agency of the Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet train, donated a fully equipped modern ambulance, on the occasion of Independence Day 2019. The ambulance was handed over to Civil Surgeon, Palghar at the hands of Dr. Kailas Shinde, District collector, Palghar in presence of Hon’ble M.P Rajendra Gavit and Hon’ble guardian minister of Palghar district Shri. Ravindra Chavan.
The ambulance which was donated to Rural Health Unit Palghar, was earlier received by NHSRCL in its primary condition. It was then customised and upgraded with modern medical equipment. A dispensary on its own, the ambulance will have special machinery for cardiac emergencies. Along with this, the ambulance is equipped with emergency medical trolley, folding stretcher, foldable wheelchair, portable stretcher, oxygen cylinder, blood pressure monitor, IV stand, blood storage compartment, spine board stretcher, air-conditioner, patient bed support, endotracheal tube, resuscitation kit, wash basin, doctor revolving chair, LED bulb, spot lights and more. Due to presence of these facilities, basic treatment of the patient can be started while on the way to the hospital itself.
Expressing satisfaction about the ambulance-donation, District Collector, Dr. Kailas Shinde, said, “The fully equipped modern ambulance will be highly beneficial in bringing relief to the patients in rural areas. This initiative will strengthen our efforts made at the administrative level”.
The residents from the tribal areas of Dahanu-Talasari will highly benefit from this initiative. The primary objective of NHSRCL is to bring overall development in Palghar district, through which India’s first bullet train will pass. In coming days skill development programme will be undertaken to ensure that the youth in tribal areas gets more opportunities of employment.
NHSRCL officials from Palghar, Vasai, Dahanu and Mumbai along with Government officials were present at this event.
Social Initiatives
Under the Income Restoration Plan of NHSRCL, 22 women (18 from Boriyavi village and 4 from Samarkha village) from the project affected families are pursuing their training in sewing & stitching tailoring course (21 Dec 2020 to 27 Jan 2021) at Anand district, Gujarat. These training programs are conducted in collaboration with RSETI (Rural Self Employment Training Institute). It is a step in the direction of becoming #Aatmanirbhar and a better life for these women.
After completion of the training, NHSRCL has plans to hand hold these women by providing them with the support in terms of buying a sewing machine for them and setting up a co-operative group (Sakhi Mandal) wherein they can help each other and develop a sustainable livelihood for themselves and their family.

To improve the skill set and to create opportunities for income generation for the families of the project affected people of Mumbai –Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor project, NHSRCL is organising various types of skill development training programmes under Income Restoration Programme.
The first batch of 14 candidates from the villages of Thane district, completed their class room training in Hotel Management and will now pursue their six month long ‘On the job Training’ in a reputed Hotel in Andheri, Mumbai. During the class room training, the participants have acquired the skills in: Food production, Food and beverage service, House-keeping, Communication and Front office.
The training programme was conducted by the Council of Education & Development Programmes Pvt Ltd, a government recognised institute in Thane, Maharashtra.
While digitally interacting with the participants, the Managing Director, NHSRCL, Shri Achal Khare said “ India is a young country and our youth must work towards acquiring skills so that they can become Atmanirbhar and also contribute in the nation building. NHSRCL is committed to provide skill development trainings in various disciplines and help young minds to improve their employment opportunities.”
The skill development training has been provided to more than 239 participants in various skills like Computer Hardware and Networking, Computer Accounting, Welding & Fabrication, Mobile Repairing, Electrical works, Office Automation etc, so far.
Presently, NHSRCL is facilitating free of cost training required for construction related activities like Bar bending, Construction electrical works, Plumbing, Plastering etc in Gujarat and Maharashtra states.
National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has engaged Rustomjee Academy For Global Careers, Dahanu, Maharashtra for providing skill development and capacity building training programmes for the Project Affected Households in Palghar district, Maharashtra under Income Restoration Plan (IRP).
The first residential training programme for ‘Assistant Electrician’ has been started in Dahanu Taluka, Palghar District, where eleven (11) trainees have been enrolled. The training programme is for three (03) months where trainees will be trained in handling and repairing electrical equipment and electrical wiring. The best practices in this field and safety guidelines will also be explained during the course period. The training fees including lodging, food, transportation, uniform, certification, placement arrangements for the trainees have been facilitated by the NHSRCL.
Two more training courses at Vasai Taluka, Palghar district for Digital marketing and Basic Computers & DTP with Photoshop being organised by NHSRCL through Global Education Trust (Mumbai) at Vasai are already running successfully.
The basic objective of income restoration activities is that no project affected person shall be worse off than before the project. Income generation is not limited to payment of compensation, R&R assistance etc; but also includes skill development training enhancement for income restoration and development of livelihood restoration and income generation opportunities for the project affected persons and is an important part of rehabilitation. PAHs will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of options designed to leverage their current activities and skills. Under the Income Restoration Programme, NHSRCL in association with RUDSET Institute, Nadiad provided two wheeler repairing training to the youths from the project affected villages from Anand and Kheda districts. Total 10 youths from villages of Anand and Kheda district successfully completed 30 days training programme.
NHSRCL distributed two wheeler repair tool kits to all the candidates on successfully completing the training.
National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) in association with Arcadis and Dev Foundation is providing skill training under the Income Restoration Program in Bharuch district to help Project affected people (PAPs), to restore their livelihoods. NHSRCL’s land acquisition process is not only limited to compensation, R&R assistance etc, but also includes skill development initiatives through which income can be generated by PAPs for the livelihood.
Under this programme, a Computer Hardware and Networking Programme for prospective youths was organised at Fath Calvary School, Nandelav Chaukadi, Bharuch. Total 24 youths were benefitted from this 60 days training programme.
