Anand city is known as Milk City of India. The station façade and interior design of Anand Bullet Train station is inspired from the fluid nature, shape and colour of milk droplets, owning to its vicinity to milk capital of India, Anand.

Salient Features of Anand Bullet Train Station
•    Length of the Platform - 415 m
•    Height of the station - 25.6 m
•    Total built up area – 44,073 sqm

The station will have three floors (Ground, Concourse and Platform) having two side platforms and 4 tracks in between. It will be equipped with all modern and advanced facilities & amenities. There will be ticketing and waiting areas, a business-class lounge, a nursery, restrooms, information booths, retail centres etc.

In addition to the existing connectivity of station through link road with NH-48, (connecting Delhi, Mumbai & Chennai), NHSRCL has acquired additional strip of land along the viaduct for connecting station directly to NH-48 on one side and SH-150 (connecting NH -48 with various villages around the area) on other side.

The Multimodal Traffic Integration Plan ensures smooth, fast, safe and comfortable movement of all vehicles (public & private). Due consideration has been given to pedestrian & Intermediate Public Transport (IPT) movement (like auto rickshaws etc.) in the station area while planning the parking and pick up/drop off facilities.

Passenger pick & drop off and parking facility are planned adjacent to station building for cars, two wheelers, autos & buses along with pedestrian plaza space. The segregated pick up/drop off areas will reduce the pick-up/drop off time for private and public transport vehicles and will lead to smooth movement in the station forecourt and reduce the congestion especially in peak hours of operation.

The nearest railway station is Uttarsanda railway station, located around 600 m east from the station, while the nearest major station is Nadiad Junction railway station, located around 10 km from the station. The nearest airport is Vadodara Airport, located 54 km while Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at Ahmedabad is located 70 km from the station. The under-construction station will be developed as a hub through integration with all basic modes of transportation for better, faster and hassle-free connectivity to and from the station.

In order to enhance accessibility & convenience of commuters, stakeholders and to promote economic activities around the stations, the surrounding areas of Bullet Train stations are planned to be developed in accordance with the policies of TOD (Transit Oriented Development).

In collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Ministry of Railways, Governments of Gujarat and Maharashtra, and with partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), which brings decades of experience from similar successful projects in Japan, the program aims to introduce world-class station area development techniques, under project for Station Area Development along Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project (SMART).

Four stations - Sabarmati and Surat in Gujarat and Virar and Thane in Maharashtra have been shortlisted by the City & State authorities under the project.
